Location

Located in the heart of a tranquil, 600-hectare pine forest, Summer France's Les Mas de Saint Hilaire offers guests the chance to enjoy peaceful surroundings and the warm sunshine of the Atlantic coastline of France. The golden sands of the beach are just a short walk away through the pine forests and sand dunes, and there are plenty of activities available for those who prefer to keep active during their holiday.

Found in a quiet area near the village of Saint Jean de Monts, in the wonderful Vendée region of north-west France, there are a few shops, restaurants and attractions to be discovered in the village itself, as well as plenty to explore further afield. Noirmoutier and les Sables d'Olonne is just under 45min drive away and provides a fascinating history and touristic places. Alternatively, head to Nantes, which is over an hour away by car, and offers a wide selection of shops, bars, restaurants and more.

The Bungalows

Les Mas de Saint Hilaire's bright and spacious cottages are designed to allow guests to explore their stunning natural surroundings. In a tranquil setting, these cottages are ideal for those wanting to escape the stresses of everyday life and enjoy this beautiful area of France, with warm interiors and private gardens where guests can relax in the sun or dine al fresco. There is a communal swimming pool, as well as a children's pool, and pretty gardens with lots of greenery. The communal swimming pool is open depending on the time of year and weather conditions (the pool is scheduled to open the 28th of June).

The cottages sleep between four to six people comfortably and come with living/dining area, a fully-equipped kitchenette, terrace, and a parking space, useful for those who are looking to explore the local area.

Board Options

All of the cottages at Les Mas de Saint Hilaire are self-catered, allowing guests to enjoy exploring the regional cuisine at their own pace. Each of the residences comes with a fully equipped kitchenette, with a micro-oven or micro-waves oven, hotplates, a fridge and all crockery and cutlery. Guests can wander the 20-minute walk to the local shops and supermarket to purchase local ingredients.

With so many working harbour towns, fresh fish and shellfish are a real delicacy in the Vendée region. Wednesdays and Saturdays are market days, where rustic products can be purchased at good prices. Saint Hilaire de Riez

Enjoy the best of both worlds during your stay the Les Mas de Saint Hilaire, with the village of Saint Hilaire de Riez nearby offering a small range of shops, restaurants, bars and attractions, as well as peaceful natural surroundings. Nestled in the popular Vendée region, families are drawn to this area of France year after year as this is seaside holidaying at its best. Visitors can soak up the bright sunshine of the Atlantic coast on the 12km of golden sands or explore the pine forests in the local area.

There are further villages and towns to be explored along the coast for those who wish to hire a car, as well as the city of Nantes just over an hour's drive from the accommodation.

Activities

The long sandy beach at Saint Hilaire de Riez provides ample opportunity to simply relax. Little ones can paddle safely in the shallow sloping waters, while the cottages themselves have access to a communal swimming pool and a children's pool with sun loungers.

For something more high-energy, there is a great selection of activities in the local area. Companies along the beach offer sailing, kayaking and wind surfing, while on land there are extensive cycle paths through the forests and along the pretty coastline.

For a family-friendly day trip, head to Ile-aux-Jeux just outside of the town. The park offers slides, a trampoline, karting, mini-golf, pedal boats, pony riding, a maze, zip wires and inflatable games to play on. Alternatively, the Atlantic Toboggan water park offers a huge pool with slides, wave pool, rubber ring rapids, paddling pool, and geysers to keep water babies happy.

Things to see

Don't miss a day trip to the French theme park Le Puy du Fou, which is just under an hour and a half away by car. The park puts on historical shows and themed entertainment, with stunts and displays, where children can have fun as they learn about the history of France along the way. This attraction gets rave reviews, and is France's second most visited theme park, only following behind Disneyland.

Take a ferry to the Ile d'Yeu and explore north-western France at its very best, with a pretty fishing village, as well as hiking, cycling and some fantastic beaches on offer.

Those wanting to learn more about the history and architecture of the region will enjoy a trip to the Cathedral of Luçon, with its spire reaching 85m high and dating back to the 12th century.

Payment conditions

Summer France offers 3 options for payment:

1) Pay in 3 instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking, 10% two months before the date of arrival and the remaining balance one month before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available for bookings made by telephone more than 70 days before the stay.
2) Pay in two instalments: 10% deposit at the time of booking and payment of the remaining balance 30 days before the date of arrival. This method of payment is only available when the booking is made more than 31 days before the arrival date.
3) Pay in 1 instalment: pay the full amount at the time of booking and receive a discount of 15 GBP on the overall price of the stay. This method of payment is valid for stays of 7 nights or more, booked more than 40 days before arrival and for a minimum purchase of 150 GBP.

- Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to the final payment
- Any extras added after the final payment to be paid at the time of addition to booking.
-If the booking was made under the 'non refundable' terms, the total amount will be debited at the time of the booking (the discount of 15 GBP is not available on these prices).

Methods of payment accepted:
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cheques*, holiday vouchers*.
*(only for reservations made more than a month before arrival).
For payments desired by cheque or holiday vouchers the deposit must be paid by way of debit/credit card - Visa, Mastercard, American Express and the second and/or third payment can be made by cheque or holiday voucher.
Arrival date less than 40 days: The total amount of the booking must be paid in full online, by debit/credit card at the time of booking.

Cancellation conditions

- If you choose Standard Conditions

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the price of the holiday
-Between 30 days and 21 days before arrival: 45% of the price of the holiday
-Between 20 days and 8 days before arrival: 60% of the price of the holiday
-Between 7 days and 4 days before arrival: 90% of the price of the holiday
-Less than 3 days before arrival: 100% of the price of the holiday

- If you choose Free Cancellation Conditions

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:
-More than 30 days before the arrival date: repayment of the deposit
-Between 30 days and the date of arrival: 100% of the total price will be retained.
-No show: the total price of the reservation will be retained

- If you choose Non Refundable Conditions

As part of the low price non-refundable offer, in the case of a cancellation you will be invoiced for the total amount at any time
