La Tranche sur mer
Located in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region, La Tranche Sur Mer is a coastal resort in the South Vendée, where its many spots for surfing, kitesurfing, sand yachting and windsurfing make the reputation of this region.
La Tranche-Sur-Mer is a rural town, it is one of the cities with a low population density.
The town, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, is also a coastal town. As such, special planning laws apply to the protection of spaces, sites and natural landscapes in order to safeguard the ecological balance.

Activities
: The location of the Residence l'Océan is ideal for outdoor activities. Many activities await you there in order to have the best possible stay.
Not far from the latter, you will find water activities such as windsurfing, skimboarding and surfing or if you are more down-to-earth, you have the choice, among other things ; for instance petanque with a reserved area, skateboarding with an outdoor skate park, and tennis with two indoor courts and four outdoor courts. Your muscles will also appreciate a day of intensive sport with these 40 km of secure cycle paths, or a two-kilometre fitness trail equipped with apparatus around the oceanic bassin.
Take advantage of the pleasures offered by this city by sending yourself into the air for your first flight or by flying over the islands with their magnificent landscapes. For the pleasure of the little ones, pony rides held on a lanyard for children from 2 to 6 years old are available there.
Things to see
Located in the south of Pays de la Loire region, the Vendée is one of the departments that does not count its natural treasures. Nature reserves with abundant and diverse fauna, regional natural parks and a real paradise for nature lovers.
Among other things, there are 140 km of immense beaches surrounded by pine forests, state forests and dunes. A range of beaches for all tastes, including those with fine sand such as Talmont Saint-Hilaire beach, or rocky coves such as the Corniche de Sion and its rocky Sentinels, three kilometers of wild rocky coast to indulge in your favorite activities. Boisniver beach in Sion is a magnificent place where nature continues to surprise walkers, especially with the maritime sagebrush with its pointed silvery leaves. These are punctuated by the high and low tides of the Atlantic.
Maison de la nature de la Grenouillère: In the aquatic environments located on the Vendée Grand Littoral territory, you will find a wide variety of landscapes that are both visually and aurally breathtaking. From lakes to rivers, from estuaries to the coast, they are home to abundant animal and plant life. In order to better appreciate and discover these species, La Maison de la Biodiversité de la Grenouillère has developed a new museography which emphasizes the aesthetic appeal of these landscapes, discovering these wonders sensorially and aurally and also through an animal documentary by 25 mins.
To the South of La Tranche sur Mer is La Baie de L'aiguillon which is a vast preserved natural area of 5000 hectares, a pure paradise for migratory birds. The latter can be discovered by boat in the estuary on a hike or to fly over in a seaplane to enjoy magnificent expanses.
